Working with Cardiff-based creative Saad Abdullah, the young curators planned, styled and creatively directed a short film celebrating his work and artistic identity.
From initial concept development through to production planning, location selection, styling, filming and editing, participants led every stage of the creative process with support from experienced professionals.
How it contributed to RECLAIM
This project marked an important step from technical learning into creative leadership, allowing young curators to take ownership of artistic decision-making while collaborating directly with an established creative practitioner.
Description
The SOIF project marked the beginning of the RECLAIM young curators' filmmaking journey. Rather than creating a new production from scratch, the team revisited and completely re-edited an existing project as a practical learning exercise.
Working alongside experienced filmmakers, participants developed an understanding of professional editing workflows, storytelling, colour grading, sound design and post-production techniques. This hands-on approach allowed the young curators to build confidence with industry-standard editing software before leading future productions.

One of the most ambitious projects within RECLAIM, the IBYWORLD × FAW campaign brought together Creative Circle, the Football Association of Wales and adidas to celebrate community, football and creative culture.
Young curators participated throughout the production process, attending planning meetings with FAW branding and licensing teams, contributing ideas during campaign development and supporting the organisation of both photography and film shoots.
Participants were involved in production coordination, styling, creative direction and content development, gaining first-hand experience of delivering a professional campaign alongside national organisations.

This project demonstrated how the skills developed throughout RECLAIM could be applied within a high-profile commercial environment, giving participants valuable experience working alongside industry professionals and major organisations.
